Headin’ down the Highway

April 21, 2011

Once we got EVERYTHING packed and loaded into the car we were ready to begin our adventure.  So we entered onto the interstate and quickly hit a wall of traffic.  Thankfully we were right next to the last exit and we were able to get off.  We went to Wal-Mart to kill some time.  We looked up on our phones and found out there had been an accident.  So we walked around Wal-Mart for 45 IMG_1047minutes and the roads were still not open.

We were starving!  We were planning on eating at our favorite sub shop Silver Mine Subs, since we don’t have one here in town.  We knew we were not going to make, so we went to Qdoba and ate there.  After we finished eating we went home.  I scooped the snow and Michael took a nap.  Almost four hours after we first tried to leave we were finally able to hit the road.

There was far more traffic than usual on the roads but we have waited a little while to let traffic even out.  We were about five miles outside of Fort Collins when we passed a sign that let us know that there was an accident 11 miles ahead.  Not again!  So we exited and walked around American Furniture Warehouse for about half an hour.  After the accident cleared when hit the road a second time.

We were getting close to the hotel when it happened.  Mr. Benjamin got tired of being in the car seat, was hungry, and just over all grumpy…and he was starting to let us know about.  I cannot blame him both of us were hungry and pretty grumpy by this point too.  We were about 15 minutes away.  We felt so bad but we were just too close to stop.  He was upset but not seriously mad so we just kept going.

FINALLY we arrived at the hotel.  We checked in, got our room keys, and went to the car to unload.  Michael and I loaded up everything onto a cart.  I told him to just park the car and that I would take everything up.  One of the desk staff was nice enough to help me out by pushing the cart up so I could just carry Ben.  We got up to the room and felt relieved at finally getting there.

Rollin’ Baby

April 1, 2011

Today 2011-04-01_13-53-04_333Benjamin rolled all the way over for the first time!  He went from his tummy to his side, which he has done many times.  Then all of a sudden he was on his tummy and kept going to his other side and then his back again!  Here is a picture that I got of him on my phone right after it happened.  He has not done it again since, but it was amazing.  I am so proud of my little man.

Growing Boy

March 26, 2011

Benjamin went to the doctor on Thursday and he is  25 1/2 inches long and 13 pounds  8 ounces.  He said that he is very healthy and growing great!!  My little man is growing up too fast!!

IMG_3798I love this picture!  Benjamin is wearing his Baby Nargles onesies my friend Sarah made for him at my shower.  It is great because when Luna barks at nothing we say that she is barking at Nargles (Since she is named after the Harry Potter character Luna Lovegood).

Eating cereal!!

March 21, 2011

On Thursday, March 17th we feed Benjamin rice cereal for the IMG_3759first time.  The first day was a little rocky.  He was not a fan.  Day 2 was about the same.  But, by day three he was opening his mouth when I brought the spoon up to his mouth.  Now he is a pro, beside making a huge mess.  I think it is pretty cute when he is covered in rice cereal.  What a big boy!!!

Bed What???

March 18, 2011

In my third trimester I heard two horrible words from my doctor…BED REST!  I will give more information on that later.  149194_122174101179076_100001594613633_154054_159299_nI knew that I still had so much to get ready for Benjamin.  I was freaking out.  Michael works 40 hours a week and there is only so much that he can do to help.

Michael’s Mom and Grandma offered to come up and help around the house.  At first I wasn’t sure.  I didn’t want to put them out.  They told us both that they all just really wanted to help.  So I finally said yes.

Thank God for their help.  Those two ladies did a ton for us.  They washed all of Benjamin’s new baby clothes, the rest of our laundry, dusted, swept, mopped, painted the blue wall in Ben’s room, and a whole bunch of other things.  They even bought us new curtains for the living room and Benjamin’s room.  There is no way that we would have been able to get everything done without them.
