In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday we read five of the six Dr. Seuss books that we own: Hop on Pop, The Cat and the Hat, The Cat and the Hat Comes Back, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and Green Eggs and HamIMG_3754I like to think of How the Grinch Stole Christmas as a Christmas book so we did not read that one.  I can remember my Dad reading these books to me when I was a kid.  My favorite book was Green Eggs and Ham.  Since Dr. Seuss’ death many other authors have taken over writing his books and produced some really great reads including; Are you My Mother? by Eastman.

Dr. Seuss books are great to read to your kids.  The words are easy to understand, there are good values, and they teach numbers, letters, colors and more.  Plus the rhyming is fun for everyone.  These books will be a part of our lives for many years to come.  Reading this books on Dr. Seuss’ Birthday has become a new Stephens’ Family Tradition.

What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
