One of the best places to check out for free educational resources is your local library. They also have great stuff that is a little less than educational. Now I may be a bit bias here, since I work at a library, but they are AWESOME!! Libraries are so much more than books. Our library has movies (VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray), video games (Play Station, DS, Wii, X-Box), music, books on tape, programs, and so much more.
I have been able to check about books about pregnancy, breast feeding, parenting, board books (the books that thick and made for babies), stories, music, parenting magazines, CDs, and videos. Our library has a parenting section full of great stuff! It is not all books about parenting there are also books about fun activities to do with your kids.
So go to your local library and ask about what they have. A librarian is a great person to ask for books about potty training (for you and your little one), actives to do together, age appropriate books for any level, and pretty much anything else that you can think of. Reading is one of the best things you can do for and with your child. Check it out! http://www.albanycountylibrary.org/
